Urinary and Kidney Health… Don’t Get Stoned!

You pay a painful price for a poor diet should it impact your kidneys by causing kidney stones.

(Watch videos below)

LIKE WITH the liver, the key to kidney health — beyond a good diet (extremely important) and exercise — are supplements that cleanse, restore and maintain.  Toxins need to be flushed out.  Heavy metals need to be flushed out.  Antioxidants need to be introduced to help make the kidneys strong.

There’s no point in cleansing the kidney’s without including the liver, so consider reading this post about liver health and this one on general cleansing.

And here’s a page about “How to Keep Your Kidney’s Healthy” from a fun site devoted to kidneys.

Here are two good supplements that I often use:

Prostate Care This contains the three highly touted ingredients for prostate health in one formula: Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin seed, and Pygeum bark.  With prostate cancer being among the top cancers to effect men, I look at this supplement as some insurance.

UPDATE:  This has been discontinued (Metal Detox too).  Will find a replacement.

Methionine Detox Complex I alternate this one with Heavy Metal Detox and use them only when cleansing.

And this one is well regarded for women:

Cranberry Concentrate For women who want to promote proper urinary tract function, Cranberry Concentrate extract offers a convenient alternative to high calorie cranberry juice, this product offers a dried fruit 8:1 concentrate, providing you with eight times the amount of cranberry than in a normal serving of juice, without any of the sugar and calories. Cranberries contain a natural anti-adherence factor that limits helps the body the amount of unhealthy bacteria collecting on urinary tract tissue to help maintain optimal urinary tract health.

Wondering if you’re kidney’s are healthy? Many people aren’t aware if they’re at risk.  The next two videos discuss risk factors, treatment and prevention:

If you take antibiotics for anything, make sure you supplement with probiotics, such as Jarro-Dophilus EPS by Jarrow Formulas.

Diet and genetics’ influence on creating kidney stones, which is becoming prevalent in children, is presented here:
